Terms of Service

1. What Submanagr is

Submanagr (“Submanagr”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile app that helps you track your subscriptions and split shared ones with people you already know. Submanagr is a ledger and a trust layer - not a payment service. We record who owes what and deep-link you into your own payment app (Revolut, PayPal or Venmo) with the amount prefilled. We never hold, move, store, or process your money, and we are not a party to any payment you make between you and the people in your groups.

The one exception is Submanagr Pro, our own paid tier, which you buy through the App Store - see section 4.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Submanagr. You’re responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for the activity that happens under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use the service.

3. Groups, invites and splits

Submanagr lets you create groups around a subscription, invite others, and divide the cost. The amounts, splits, and “paid / confirmed” states you see are a record you and your group maintain - they reflect what members and the group leader mark, not a verified movement of funds. You and your group are responsible for the accuracy of those records and for actually paying each other through your chosen payment method.

Only invite people you know and who expect to hear from you. Invite links may have expiry or usage limits set by the group leader.

4. Submanagr Pro

Submanagr has a free tier and a paid tier, Submanagr Pro. The free tier includes one group and three active personal subscriptions; Pro removes those limits and unlocks the Insights and export features. The current price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency for your App Store region.

4.1 Apple sells it, not us

Pro is sold as an in-app purchase through the App Store. Apple is the seller and handles the payment - your billing relationship for the subscription is with Apple, under Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions. We never see or store your card, your Apple Account password, or your billing address.

4.2 Auto-renewal and cancelling

Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends. Your Apple Account is charged on renewal. You can cancel at any time in Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions, or from Manage plan in the app, which opens the same Apple screen. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the period you have already paid for runs out.

If Pro includes a free trial, it converts into a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. The trial length and the price it converts to are both shown in the app before you start it.

4.3 Refunds

Because Apple takes the payment, we cannot issue refunds ourselves. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Apple decides them under its own policy. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as requesting a refund and does not start one.

If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within 14 days of receiving your receipt, without giving a reason. For subscriptions this applies to the initial purchase rather than to each automatic renewal. Because Apple is the seller, that right is exercised through Apple - see the “Right of Withdrawal” section of Apple’s Media Services Terms.

4.4 Price changes

We may change the price of Pro. Apple will tell you before an increase takes effect, and in most regions your subscription will not renew at the higher price unless you agree to it. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.

4.5 What happens if Pro ends

Nothing is deleted. If your Pro subscription lapses and your account is over the free limits, we ask you which groups and subscriptions to keep active - we will not pick for you, and we will never remove you from a group you joined, because that would change other people’s shares over a billing event they know nothing about. Any money already owed inside a group stays recorded and settleable either way.

While you are on Pro, the app adds Submanagr Pro to your own subscription list and keeps it in step with your App Store subscription, so your spending totals include what you pay us. That entry is maintained by us and is not editable; changing or cancelling it happens in your Apple Account settings, as above.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Submanagr for anything unlawful, or to harass, defraud, or chase strangers for money;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or groups that aren’t yours;
• disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its infrastructure;
• upload content you don’t have the right to share.

6. No financial or debt-collection service

Submanagr is not a bank, money transmitter, escrow, payment processor, or debt-collection agency. Reminders and nudges are convenience features for friends-and-family arrangements; they are not collection on our behalf. Any dispute about who owes what is between you and the people in your group.

7. Service availability

We work to keep Submanagr reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Submanagr is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any money you do or don’t get paid back by other people. The service helps you keep track - settling up is between you and them.

9. Termination

You can stop using Submanagr and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
